The Border Security Force (BSF) troops on November 12 recovered a packet of heroin weighing 550 grams along with a drone from fields near Rattankhurd village in Amritsar district. The recovered drone was a DJI Mavic 3 Classic model.

The Border Security Force (BSF) troops on November 12 intercepted and neutralised a drone, and in the subsequent search operation recovered a packet of heroin weighing 563 grams along with a drone from fields near Agwan village in Gurdaspur district. The recovered drone was a China made DJI Mavic 3 Classic model.

Police on November 12 arrested gangster Yodhbir Singh Yodha after a brief encounter and seized a 9 mm Glock pistol from his possession near Kasur drain in Tarn Taran district. Yodha, a member of jailed gangster Harpreet Singh alias Happy Baba's gang, was involved in various criminal activities, including being the shooter in a firing incident at a factory on November 5.

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami on November 12 condemned recent incidents in Canada, calling them a conspiracy to defame the Sikh community. He stated that differences of opinion are being falsely portrayed as Sikh attacks on Hindu temples. The SGPC executive committee passed a resolution the same day, asserting that Sikhs respect all faiths and would never target places of worship. Dhami also criticized restrictions on Sikh employees wearing the kirpan at Indian airports and the denial of visas to Sikh pilgrims visiting Nankana Sahib. He announced that SGPC delegations will meet with the Indian government and the Pakistan High Commission to resolve these issues.

According to sources, the Border Security Force (BSF) will screen patriotic films for Sikh pilgrims visiting Darbar Sahib via the Kartarpur Corridor to counter anti-India propaganda allegedly promoted by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Pakistan Rangers. This initiative aims to foster national pride among visitors and mitigate efforts to incite anti-India sentiments, particularly using footage of Operation Blue Star.

Amritsar rural police on November 11 arrested five gangsters after a brief encounter, identified as Khushpreet Singh, Harpreet Singh, Chandan Singh, Jashanpreet Singh and Gurmanpreet Singh, and seized one .32 bore pistol, 10 live cartridges and five mobile phones, besides impounding a car (HR-26-BU-5321), near Lopoke village in Ajnala in Amritsar district.

Khalistani terrorist and chief of the banned Khalistani outfit Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, on November 11, via a video message, threatened attacks on Hindu temples on November 16 and 17, while also vowing to "shake the foundations of Ayodhya" and warning Indians residing in Canada to stay away from participating in attacks on Hindu temples. In the video, Pannun stated, "We will shake the foundations of Ayodhya, birthplace of the violent Hindutva ideology."

Haryana Shiv Sena state in-charge Vikram Singh Yadav filed an online complaint with the cyber police on November 11, alleging he received a death threat from an individual claiming to be associated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, in Gurugram, Haryana. Yadav stated in his complaint, "I was given a day’s time and threatened that if I do not give a share in my business, I will be killed."

Khanna Police on November 11 busted an inter-state arms supply gang with the arrest of three of its members—Palwinder Singh, Ramandeep Singh, and Ravi—and seized nine .32 bore pistols and seven magazines from their possession in Ludhiana, Punjab. Police had initially apprehended Palwinder and Ramandeep on November 8, seizing two pistols. Following further investigation, Ravi was arrested in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, on November 11, and seven additional .32 bore pistols and seven magazines were seized from him.

In a major breakthrough, Punjab Police uncovered that, two operatives of Arshdeep Singh Gill alias Arsh Dalla, arrested for a separate murder, were also involved in the murder of Jaswant Singh Gill. The murder was orchestrated as a revenge hit under a contract originating from Canada. The police have traced key evidence, revealing intricate planning that involved international coordination and local logistics.

Punjab’s Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, in an interview with The Week, highlighted the growing threat posed by organised criminal networks (OCNs) based in Canada and the United States (US), with approximately 25 wanted criminals from Punjab operating in these regions. He expressed concerns about the links between these OCNs and pro-Khalistan terror groups, with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) facilitating these associations. Yadav also discussed the challenges in combating transnational terror activities, including the use of technology for covert communication and the recruitment of radicalised youth.

According to Border Security Force (BSF) sources, the number of rogue drones intercepted along the International Border in Punjab has surged to 200 in 2024, compared to 107 in 2023. Since November 1, 2024, the BSF has shot down or recovered 11 drones, seizing approximately 3 kg of narcotics. These drones, which primarily originate from Pakistan, are used to smuggle weapons, drugs, and other contraband. Traffickers prefer drones due to the challenges in detecting them, particularly at night. Despite the fencing along most of the border, some stretches remain difficult to patrol, complicating efforts to curb smuggling activities.

Members of the Hindu Sikh Global Forum gathered on November 10 outside the Canadian High Commission to protest recent attacks on Hindu temples in Canada, but were stopped by Delhi Police at Teen Murti Marg in New Delhi. The Forum, representing Hindu and Sikh communities, called for action against Khalistani extremists, whom they accuse of targeting Hindu and Sikh symbols.

Preliminary investigations revealed the suspects were in contact with Pakistan-based drug traffickers, coordinating cross-border smuggling of drugs via drones through social media apps.

Punjab Police on November 9 arrested two key shooters and members of the Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dalla’s gang, identified as Navjot Singh, and Anmolpreet Singh, from Kharar in Sahibzada Ajit Singh (SAS) Nagar district. This arrest follows the murder of Kotkapura-based Sikh activist Gurpreet Singh alias Bhodi, who was shot dead last month in Faridkot in Punjab. According to police, the murder was allegedly orchestrated from abroad by Arsh Dalla with assistance from Canada-based associates.

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami on November 9 expressed dismay over the alleged denial of visas to 1,481 Sikh devotees intending to travel to Pakistan for Guru Nanak Dev's birth anniversary on November 15. Out of 2,244 applications, the Pakistan embassy approved visas for only 763 devotees, which Dhami termed as unfortunate, urging both governments to address this recurring issue.
