The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Chandigarh Police on January 22 arrested Gagan alias Gogi Gagandeep Singh (23) and Gagandeep (24), seizing 125.83 grams of heroin, 77.80 grams of charas, five knives, a dummy pistol, and a weighing scale from their possession in Chandigarh. The arrests followed the earlier detention of a woman smuggler, Aarti, who was caught with 30 grams of heroin on January 2. Gagandeep was identified as the main drug supplier.
Punjab Police, in a joint operation with the Health Department, conducted raids at several pharmaceutical outlets on January 22 and seized 28,491 intoxicating tablets and 1,448 capsules in Ferozepur district. At M/s Nitin Medical Store, 17,180 tablets and 260 capsules were seized, leading to the booking of Raman Kapoor and Kunal Kapoor. In a separate raid at M/s PK Medical Agency, 11,111 tablets and 1,188 capsules were seized, with owners Pawan Kumar and Raj Badwar booked. Additionally, 200 intoxicating tablets were seized from Aulakh Medical Store, and owners Angrej Singh and Rakesh Kumar were also booked.

Phillaur police on January 8 dismantled an inter-state poppy husk smuggling racket operating between Madhya Pradesh (MP) and Punjab by arresting two persons, identified as Buta Singh and Kulwant Singh, and seized 1.44 quintal of crushed poppy husk, at a naka (checkpoint) near Lasara village in Jalandhar district. Two accomplices identified as Bir Singh alias Ghona and Surjit Singh alias Jita, are absconding.

Punjab police on December 28 arrested two members of a narco-terror module being operated by foreign-based handlers who had also lobbed a hand-grenade at the Islamabad area police station in Amritsar on December 17, identified as Gurjeet Singh and Baljit Singh, and seized 1.4 kg heroin, one hand grenade and two sophisticated pistols - one 9 mm Zigana and one 9 mm Glock pistol along with ammunition from their possession, in Amritsar in Amritsar district. The module was run by United States (US) based Sandeep Singh alias Seepu and Pakistan-based operatives. Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operative Jeevan Fauji, based abroad, had claimed responsibility for the attack on social media.

The arrests were made based on a complaint lodged with a video clipping on the state government's anti-drug portal under the "Safe Punjab" campaign.
