Police on June 22 busted a narcotics supply network and arrested three accused and recovered more than 1.8 kg of heroin and INR 390000 in alleged drug proceeds from their possession, in Fazilka district. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused were part of a larger drug distribution network operating in the region. Efforts are underway to identify both the suppliers and recipients linked to the racket.
On June 21, Punjab Police, on day 477 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, arrested 76 drug smugglers, and seized 3.2 kg of heroin, 18 kg of poppy husk, 848 intoxicant pills and INR 800 drug money from the possession of arrested persons, across the state.
In a joint operation on June 21, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police recovered 27 kg of heroin from the border belt near Pul Moran along the India-Pakistan International Border in the Gharinda area of Amritsar district. According to sources, the recovery was made following specific intelligence inputs indicating that Pakistani smugglers had used drones to drop the consignment in the area.
Police on June 21 arrested two persons, Lalit Kumar and Gurpreet Singh alias Deepa, and recovered 70 grams of heroin from their possession, near Lal Palace in Kapurthala district.

Police on June 20 arrested a man, identified as Jaspal Singh alias Paalu and seized 101 grams of heroin, a country-made .32-bore pistol with a magazine, and two live .32-bore cartridges from his possession, in Moga district.
On June 20, Punjab Police, on day 476 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, arrested 103 drug smugglers, and seized 848 grams of heroin, 12 kg of poppy husk, 1,308 intoxicant pills and INR 6756 in drug money from the possession of arrested persons, across the state.
On June 19, Punjab Police, on day 475 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, arrested 57 drug smugglers, and seized 97 grams of heroin, 2 kg of poppy husk, 276 intoxicant pills and INR 103000 drug money from the possession of arrested persons, across the state.
Punjab Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) on June 18 arrested three alleged drug smugglers, Balwinder Singh, Sukhdev Singh, and Nimmo Bai, and recovered 2.515 kg of heroin, an Italy-made .39-bore pistol, and 13 live cartridges from their possession, near the grain market at Ladhuka Mandi in Fazilka district. Preliminary investigations indicated that the narcotics and weapon had been smuggled from Pakistan through drone drops.
Ropar Police on June 18 arrested five alleged drug smugglers—Lovepreet Singh, Rohit, Shubham, Parikshit, and Lehmastak Pratap Singh—and recovered 150 grams of heroin and a .32-bore pistol loaded with five live cartridges following a brief exchange of fire near Nangal town in Rupnagar district. One of the accused sustained a bullet injury during the operation and was admitted to BBMB Hospital, Nangal, for treatment.
Police on June 18 arrested a suspected member of a criminal gang, identified as Shivcharan alias Charan and recovered 12 grams of heroin, INR 1,600 in alleged drug proceeds, and an electronic weighing scale from his possession, near Rohi Kanda, close to the Tarn Taran Civil Hospital in Tarn Taran district.
Bhadaur Police on June 18 arrested a Leading Aircraftman (LAC), Simratpal Singh and seized 3.015 kg of opium from his possession, near the bus stand of Jangiana village in Barnala district. According to police, he had arrived in the area by bus allegedly to deliver the narcotics when he was apprehended. The accused, who has been serving in the Indian Air Force for about 15 years, was remanded to two days of police custody for further investigation.
On June 18, Punjab Police, on day 474 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, arrested 70 drug smugglers, and seized 961 grams of heroin and INR 3500 in drug money from the possession of arrested persons, across the state.
On June 17, Punjab Police, on day 473 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, arrested 79 drug smugglers, and seized 6.7 kg of heroin, 1.5 kg of ganja, 30 kg of poppy husk, 133000 intoxicant pills and INR 202000 drug money from the possession of arrested persons, across the state.
The Amritsar Rural Police, in coordination with intelligence agencies, on June 17 dismantled a Pakistan-linked gangster module and arrested six persons, and recovered 10 Pakistan-made pistols, along with ammunition and narcotics from their possession, in Amritsar district.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police on June 17 dismantled a Pakistan-linked narco-terror module and arrested three operatives—Harpreet Singh, Surajdeep Singh, and Jaspreet Singh and recovered an AK-47 rifle, a pistol, and narcotics allegedly smuggled into India through drone drops across the border, from Punjab. Investigators alleged that the trio was operating in coordination with a Pakistan-based drug syndicate and handlers linked to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
On June 16, Punjab Police, on day 472 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, arrested 80 drug smugglers, and seized 740 grams of heroin, 1062 intoxicant pills and INR 16000 drug money from the possession of arrested persons, across the state.
On June 15, Punjab Police, on day 471 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, arrested 83 drug smugglers, and seized 3.7 kg of heroin, 70 kg of poppy husk, 446 intoxicant pills, and INR 2,500 drug money from the possession of arrested persons, across the state.
Police on June 15 arrested Advocate Rohit Bhardwaj, former president of the BJP’s Bathinda district legal cell, and his assistant Gurpreet Singh and recovered 13.53 grams of methamphetamine (ICE) and 14.03 grams of heroin from their car, in Bhai Ghanaiya Chowk in Bathinda district.
Police on June 14 arrested two persons, identified as Balraj Sharma and Raj Kumar and recovered 4.1 kg of opium in a car on the Bathinda-Barnala Road in Bathinda district.
On June 14, Punjab Police, on day 470 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, arrested 70 drug smugglers, and seized 3.7 kg of heroin, 250 intoxicant pills and INR 9500 drug money from the possession of arrested persons, across the state.
Amritsar Police on June 14 arrested two more accused, identified as Abhishek alias Abhi alias Bhindi and a juvenile, and recovered an additional 5.041 kg of heroin in Amritsar district. The arrests were made following disclosures by six accused who had been arrested on June 11 with 30.045 kg of heroin. Police stated that Abhishek has a criminal history and is involved in multiple cases, including snatching, assault, narcotics offences, and violations of the Arms Act.
The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) on June 13 arrested a suspected drug trafficker, identified as Davinder Singh alias Ekam and recovered 3.55 kg of heroin from his possession, in Ferozepur district.
