Canada-based journalist and Hamdard TV anchor Gurpiar Singh, who was abducted by two Nihang men from his office in Mohali on November 4, was rescued by the Faridkot police from Kotkapura in Faridkot district early on the morning of November 5. However, the abductors managed to flee before the police arrived at the spot.

A social media post, purportedly made from the handle of gangster Anmol Bishnoi, surfaced on November 5 claiming responsibility for the killing of kabaddi player Gurwinder Singh alias Kinda, who was shot dead in Manki village of Samrala in Ludhiana district on November 3. In the post, two fugitives of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang — Aarzoo Bishnoi and Hari Boxer — purportedly took responsibility for the killing. Police also named gangster Ravi Rajgarh, currently lodged in Bathinda jail and a key aide of Anmol Bishnoi, as an accused in the case. However, Satinder Singh, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Ludhiana Range, commented on the social media post attributed to Anmol Bishnoi, stating, “It is probably an attempt to mislead the investigation, but we are verifying. We had already identified the four main accused in the case within hours of the incident. They had an old rivalry with the deceased. They are now trying to mislead the investigation by posting such claims in the name of Anmol Bishnoi, but things will become clearer after Ravi Rajgarh’s interrogation. Anmol Bishnoi is currently in the custody of the US authorities.”

According to sources, the special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Panchkula, Haryana, is likely to declare gangster-turned-terrorists Satinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar and Randeep Singh alias Randeep Malik as proclaimed offenders (POs) if they fail to appear before the court on November 7. The two are prime accused in the twin blast case that occurred on December 12, 2024, in Gurugram’s Sector 29 near the Warehouse Club and Human Club in Haryana. Both Brar, a native of Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab, and linked to the Khalistani outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), and Malik, a native of Jind, Haryana, had earlier been issued arrest warrants but remain untraceable. Investigators allege that Malik, in close coordination with Brar, recruited others to carry out terror-related activities in India.
