The State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Mohali, on October 29, arrested a key operative of the Bambiha gang identified as Lovepreet Singh alias Gagan Dhillon and seized one .30 bore pistol and 5 rounds in Mohali in Sahibzada Ajit Singh (SAS) Nagar district. The gang was running an extortion module, targeting businessmen, influential individuals, and members of the music industry in Punjab. Another suspect, Harmanpreet Singh, managed to flee. Efforts are ongoing to arrest him.

Punjab Police on October 28 arrested four members of a terror module associated with the banned terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), identified as Nirvair Singh alias Sehajpreet Singh alias Sunny, Shakeel Ahmed alias Laddi Gujjar, Lovepreet Singh alias Lambhu alias Sandhu and Saroop Singh alias Ropp alias Ghula and seized six foreign-made Zigana pistols and 275 cartridges from their possession in Chandigarh. Police have linked the smuggling of weapons to BKI leaders Harvinder Singh Rinda and United States (US) based terrorist Happy Passia, who collaborate with Pakistan's Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) and narco-gangsters to drop weapons via drones for targeted killings in the state.

The Amritsar Rural Police have frozen the movable and immovable properties worth INR 6.92 crore of ten drug peddlers from different villages in the Amritsar district of Punjab. The police seized residential houses worth INR 1.36 crore, INR 1.67 crore, and INR 40.95 lakh, along with a car and a scooter from Raja Singh, who was arrested by the police with 270 gm of heroin and drug money amounting to INR 7.80 lakh in August 2022. They also seized a residential house worth over INR 69 lakh belonging to Rajinder Kumar, who was arrested with 3 kg of heroin in May 2023. Additionally, a house worth over INR 66 lakh, owned by Bikramjit Singh, who was arrested with 14 kg of heroin in July 2018, was frozen. The police also seized a residential house worth INR 41 lakh, which belonged to Malkit Singh, who was arrested with 265 gm of heroin in March 2019. Furthermore, the houses of Heera Singh, Sukhdev Singh, and Sukhjinder Singh were frozen. They were arrested with 8 kg, 1 kg, and 8 kg of heroin in December 2022, October 2022, and February 2013, respectively.
