On July 13, Punjab Police, on day 134 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, registered 93 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 113 drug smugglers and seized 4.2 kg of heroin, 500 grams of ganja, 120 kg of poppy husk and INR 24,210 drug money from their possession, across Punjab.

On July 12, a key witness in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case, Harpal Kaur Bedi, told a special court in New Delhi that she was not pressured by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or Sikh leaders to name former Congress Member of Parliament (MP) Jagdish Tytler. During cross-examination, she denied fabricating her testimony or falsely implicating the accused. Bedi had earlier stated that she named Tytler only in 2016, after the death of her son, for whose safety she had previously feared. The case pertains to the killing of three Sikhs—Sardar Thakur Singh, Badal Singh, and Gurcharan Singh—at Pul Bangash on November 1, 1984. The court has listed the matter for further hearing on July 21.

Punjab Police on July 11 arrested three individuals, identified as Inderpal Bishnoi, Sandeep Khichad and Pawan Khichad, for providing shelter to the assailants involved in the July 7 murder of Abohar businessman Sanjay Verma, from Sriganganagar in Sriganganagar district in Rajasthan. The police revealed that a foreign-based handler had transferred INR 1.4 lakh to their bank accounts for facilitating the crime. The main assailants, Shakti, Rajinder alias Billa, and Jaskaran alias Katta, are currently absconding, while two others, Jaspreet and Ram Rattan, were killed in a police encounter. The prime suspect, Aarzoo Bishnoi alias Naveen Kumar, an aide of Lawrence Bishnoi, reportedly fled abroad.

Kapurthala Police on July 11 arrested two individuals, identified as Ramandeep Singh alias Raman and Daljit Singh alias Baba, and seized three imported 9mm pistols, two .32-bore pistols, one .32-bore revolver, a .12-bore gun, a large quantity of ammunition, and two vehicles from their possession near Mand Dhilwan village in Kapurthala district. Ramandeep Singh sustained a bullet injury to his leg while attempting to escape during the recovery operation and is currently under medical observation at Kapurthala Civil Hospital.

Police on July 10 demolished the house and property of a drug peddler, identified as Saurav Partap alias Sunny, in the Kot Khalsa area of Amritsar district, Punjab. Authorities stated that the house was constructed using drug money and was in violation of municipal building bylaws. The property was registered in the name of his wife, Savita Partap. Sunny, who is currently absconding, has around 25 criminal cases against him, including several under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. His daughter, Muskan, and brother, Aditya Partap, were also arrested on similar charges following the recovery of 6 kg of opium, 8 kg of heroin, 2 kg of a chemical used in heroin manufacturing, and a pistol.
