Balwant Singh Rajoana, a death row convict in the assassination case of former Chief Minister Beant Singh, on November 20, urged Sikhs to unite and strengthen their organisations while speaking at the bhog (prayer meet) for his late brother Kulwant Singh in Rajoana Kalan village, Ludhiana district. Criticising internal politics and alleging conspiracies against the Sikh community, Rajoana, who has been imprisoned since December 1995, was granted three hours of parole by the Punjab and Haryana High Court to attend the prayer meet following his brother's death on November 4.

The Jalandhar rural police on November 20 arrested three proclaimed offenders (POs) identified as Ajay, Sagar and Jasbir Singh from Gokalpur village in Jalandhar district. Ajay and Sagar, wanted in a murder case since April 2023, had been evading arrest for 13 months, while Jasbir Singh, a drug peddler, had been on the run for six years with multiple Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act cases against him.

The Malerkotla police, on November 20, directed teams handling Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act cases to improve collaboration with revenue officials to dismantle the district's drug networks. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gagan Ajit Singh noted that such joint efforts have enabled the attachment of properties worth INR 12 crore linked to accused individuals in 16 drug-related cases this year. These measures aim to deter petty criminals and monitor the financial activities of drug traffickers effectively.

Punjab Police on November 19 uncovered that a constable of Punjab Police was the kingpin in a cross-border drug trafficking case involving the arrest of Akashdeep Singh, Gurbax Singh alias Babbal, and Simranpreet Singh, and the recovery of 450 gm of heroin, a .32 bore revolver, and four live rounds from their possession on November 16, from Khasa in Amritsar district. The Police withheld the constable's identity, stating that details would be revealed after the arrest of the main accused.

Key charges include directing murders (e.g., in Moga and Bathinda under Sections 302 and 120B of the IPC), inciting communal disharmony (under the UAPA and Section 153A of the IPC), extortion (Sections 384 and 387 of the IPC), and using arms and explosives. Notably, cases such as the shooting of temple sewadars in Jalandhar have been transferred to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Dalla is accused of orchestrating widespread organized crime to instill fear and fund terror activities.
