According to sources, security has been significantly heightened in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh (UP), following a threat by Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the chief of the banned outfit Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), to attack the Ram Temple and other Hindu temples on November 16 and 17. The area has been fortified with additional police and paramilitary forces, along with enhanced surveillance using CCTV and drones.

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami on November 12 condemned recent incidents in Canada, calling them a conspiracy to defame the Sikh community. He stated that differences of opinion are being falsely portrayed as Sikh attacks on Hindu temples. The SGPC executive committee passed a resolution the same day, asserting that Sikhs respect all faiths and would never target places of worship. Dhami also criticized restrictions on Sikh employees wearing the kirpan at Indian airports and the denial of visas to Sikh pilgrims visiting Nankana Sahib. He announced that SGPC delegations will meet with the Indian government and the Pakistan High Commission to resolve these issues.
