The recent remarks by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at a Khalsa Day event, seemingly supportive of pro-Khalistan sentiments, have escalated tensions between India and Canada. Criticized by India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Trudeau's stance reflects a concerning trend of allowing separatism and extremism to thrive in Canada. His anti-Indian rhetoric, driven by political ambitions, risks damaging the historically friendly relations between the two democracies. Trudeau's actions, including the timing of arrests related to the Hardeep Singh Nijjar case and the release of an interim intelligence report alleging Indian interference in Canadian elections, are seen as politically motivated maneuvers. Amidst mounting tensions, constructive cooperation between India and Canada is essential for effectively addressing global challenges.
