Police on November 12 arrested four members of the Sonu Khatri–Binnu Gujjar gang, identified as Ishwinder Singh alias Ishu, Aman, Abhay Sidhu, and Sandeep Kumar alias Shipa, and seized a Glock pistol with four rounds and a .30 bore pistol, following a brief encounter in Khankhana village near Banga in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district. Two of the accused opened fire on police personnel and sustained injuries in retaliatory fire. All four later confessed to their involvement in the murder of Satnam Singh alias Satta of Uchha village and other crimes, including an attempted murder of a local trader in Mandali village, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, on October 29.

The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), in coordination with Batala Police, on November 12 arrested a member of the Jaggu Bhawanpuria gang, identified as Gurlove Singh alias Love Randhawa, and seized two pistols, three magazines, and 16 live cartridges from his possession, in Gurdaspur district. Police stated that he was acting under the instructions of foreign-based gangster Amrit Dalam.

Punjab Police on November 12 arrested two operatives of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, linked to foreign-based gangster Goldy Dhillon, identified as Sharanjit Singh and Aman Kumar and seized two .32 calibre pistols and 10 live cartridges, following an exchange of fire at Ghaghar Bridge on the Ambala–Dera Bassi highway in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district. Preliminary investigations revealed that the duo, involved in a recent shootout at Rajpura, had been tasked by Dhillon to target a Punjab-based businessman.

The State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Amritsar, in a joint operation with the Counter Intelligence (CI), Pathankot, on November 11 arrested two operatives linked to a gangster-terror network, identified as Harpreet Singh and Navpreet Singh, and seized a 9mm Glock pistol along with three magazines and five live cartridges from their possession, in Amritsar district. Preliminary investigation revealed that they were acting under the direction of a United Kingdom (UK)-based handler who arranged the weapons and assigned them to reconnoitre targets in Gurdaspur, Batala, and Amritsar for planned targeted killings intended to spread fear and disrupt communal harmony in Punjab.

Punjab Police on November 11 busted a cross-border arms smuggling racket with the arrest of two accused, identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Gori and Vikramjeet Singh alias Vicky and seizing eight Glock 9mm pistols, four magazines, and four live cartridges, in Ferozepur district. Preliminary investigations revealed that Vikramjeet maintained direct contact with a Pakistan-based arms smuggler who facilitated the weapon supply across the border. Further interrogation indicated that the duo distributed these weapons to local contacts on the instructions of their Pakistani handlers.

Mansa Police on November 10 announced that they had solved the case of the October 28 firing at a pesticide dealer’s shop near Gurdwara Chowk in Mansa district, linking it to an election-related rivalry in Surrey, Canada. The victim’s son, Satish Kumar alias Neetu, had contested the vice-president election of a student council at a university in Surrey, leading to enmity with a rival faction led by Sharanjit Singh Aulakh. Mansa Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bhagirath Singh Meena stated that the rival faction orchestrated the firing by hiring a shooter, Gursahib Singh, with assistance from local contacts. Earlier, police had arrested three accused along with weapons.

Police on November 10 arrested a Lucky Patial gang member, identified as Ranbir Rana, and seized a .32-bore pistol, after he was injured in retaliatory firing during a brief encounter near Bukhdi Road in Kharar, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district. The suspect, allegedly involved in a firing incident in Sector 38 on November 5, fired three shots at the police but sustained a gunshot injury in retaliatory fire and was later admitted to the Kharar Sub-Divisional Hospital.

Police on November 10 said that they had arrested Bikramjit Singh, a village sarpanch, and recovered three imported guns and 25 live cartridges from his possession, last week from Katora in Ferozepur district. According to police, the weapons were allegedly arranged for an attack on Haryanvi pop singer Rahul Fazilpuria, and Bikramjit is the eleventh accused in the case. A senior officer from the Sector 31 Crime Branch said Bikramjit was involved in supplying weapons for planned shootings targeting Fazilpuria and a property dealer in Sector 45.

Punjab Police on November 10 foiled potential targeted killings in the state with the arrest of four members of a gangster module, identified as Jagpreet Singh alias Jagga, Mohammad, Lavish Nahar, and Amarbir Singh, and seized a 9mm Glock pistol with a magazine and five live cartridges, along with a .30 bore Star-mark pistol with a magazine and three live cartridges, from their possession, in Amritsar district. Investigations revealed that the accused were in close contact with a Portugal-based wanted gangster and were operating under his directions. The foreign-based handler had arranged the delivery of the recovered weapons. Further probe indicated that the accused had conducted reconnaissance of specific targets in the Batala and Amritsar areas, and the recovered sophisticated weapons were intended for those hits.

A red alert was issued in Punjab following a deadly explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on the evening of November 10, which claimed 13 lives and left several others injured. In response, Punjab Police have intensified vehicle checks and surveillance of suspicious individuals at sensitive locations across the state. A police spokesperson confirmed that senior officers have been instructed to remain on high alert.
