He was finally nabbed near Manawala village, according to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP-rural) Satinder Singh.
Police on August 2 arrested two persons, identified as Sahil Bhatia and Taranjeet Singh, and seized 153 kg of poppy husk and a mini truck from them, in Kandrodi Morr Nangal village in Pathankot district of Punjab. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harkamal Preet Singh, two notorious gangsters, Preet Sekhon and Sonu Roadmajra, were assisting the smugglers with logistical support. The authorities are currently investigating their connections in the matter.

Based on Subham’s disclosure, the Police arrested Puneet Kumar on July 30 and recovered an illegal .32-bore country loaded with five live cartridges, near Bazaar Number 4 in Ferozepur Cantonment in Ferozepur district. Puneet’s father is serving as an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in Ferozepur. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Udaypal Singh, Puneet was part of a drug syndicate and used international numbers to communicate with other smugglers based in Pakistan, while his accomplice, Shubham Jain, delivered drugs locally.
The Gurdaspur Police on July 27 arrested three alleged drugs smugglers, identified as Vikramjeet Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Sandeep Kaur, and recovered 18 kg of pure-grade heroin, along with a swift car and a car camera from them at a check-post set up near Paniar sugar mill in Gurdaspur district. The gang is linked to United States (US) based narcotics smuggler Mandeep Singh Dhaliwal.
The Border Security Force (BSF) on July 27 recovered approximately 885 grams of heroin concealed in two plastic bottles and a motorcycle from a farming field in Mode village in Amritsar district. The recovery was made based on specific information about the suspected movement.

According to Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav, acting on a tip-off about the use of drones to drop the consignment from Pakistan, the state Special Operation Cell (SCO) carried out the operation and caught the accused who were caught trying to flee on a motorbike.
Punjab Police Counter Intelligence (CI) on July 21 arrested Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and Amritsar District President of Students Organisation of India (SOI) Tejbeer Singh and recovered 110 grams of heroin, a car and INR 3 lakh in drug money from him, in Amritsar. His links with notorious gangsters came to light after the arrest of Gurjit Singh, who confessed to receiving heroin from gangsters Manu and Doni to supply further to Tejbir. Tejbir's close association with gangster Doni wanted in multiple criminal cases, including murders, was discovered during investigations.

The Border Security Force (BSF) on July 1 recovered two plastic bottles containing approximately 1.5 kg of heroin floating on the Sutlej River near Rao ke Uttar village in Ferozepur district of Punjab. The alert BSF troops observed suspicious articles flowing in the river and successfully brought them to the river bank. The BSF further mentioned that the drugs were most likely transported from Pakistan to India through the Sutlej River.
