On May 29, Punjab Police, on day 89 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, registered 97 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 141 drug smugglers and recovered 3.1 kg of heroin, 10 kg of poppy husk, 51790 intoxicant tablets/capsules and INR 38700 drug money from their possession, across Punjab.
On May 29, Border Security Force (BSF) recovered one packet of heroin weighing 500 grams, along with one small drone, from fields near Mahawa village in Amritsar district.
The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Amritsar range, on May 28 arrested three drug traffickers—identified as Maninderjit Singh, Peter, and Lovejit Singh alias Raja—and seized 521 grams of heroin, along with four PX5 Storm pistols, seven magazines, and 55 live cartridges from their possession near Shankar Dhaba in Amritsar district. Police revealed that the consignment had been smuggled from Pakistan.
On May 28, Punjab Police, on day 88 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, registered 90 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 141 drug smugglers and seized 959 grams of heroin, 2 kg of opium and INR 3.4 lakhs drug money from the possession, across Punjab.
On May 27, Punjab Police, on day 87 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, registered 97 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 127 drug smugglers and recovered 2.2 kg of heroin, 6.6 kg of opium and INR 1.31 lakhs drug money from their possession, across Punjab.
Police, on May 27 arrested five youths involved in drug peddling, identified as Ravinder Kumar, Manpreet Singh, Shubham Thakur, Biku and Amit Kumar, and seized 150 grams of heroin, INR 15,000 drug money and a digital weighing scale from their possession, near ITI-Nangal in Nangal in Rupnagar district in Punjab.
Amritsar Police on May 27 arrested six unidentified individuals, and seized 65 grams of heroin from their possession, and four unidentified persons for consumption of the drug, across Tarn Taran district in Punjab.
The Border Security Force (BSF), in a joint operation with Punjab Police on May 26 recovered one packet of heroin weighing 550.18 grams, from fields near Mehdipur village in Tarn Taran district.

The Counter Intelligence (CI) wing of Amritsar Police on May 26 arrested three operatives of Canada-based drug smuggler Sonu, identified as Ajaypal Singh, Hardeep Singh and Milap Singh, and seized 2.5 kg of heroin and INR 42 lakh drug money along with a motorcycle and a car from their possession, in Amritsar in Amritsar district.
On May 26, Punjab Police, on day 86 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, registered 104 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 142 drug smugglers, recovered 4.4 kg of heroin and INR 57.4 lakhs of drug money from their possession across Punjab.
On May 25, Punjab Police, on day 85 of their “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, registered 104 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 158 drug smugglers and recovered 10.1 kg of heroin, 1.3 kg of opium and INR 19040 drug money from their possession, across Punjab.
The Jalandhar Commissionerate police on May 25 arrested an individual, identified as Barinder Singh alias Babbu, and seized 1 kg of heroin along with two illegal .32 bore weapons, six live cartridges and three luxury vehicles and INR 22,000 drug money from his possession, in Jalandhar in Jalandhar district.
The Jalandhar Commissionerate police on May 25 recovered an additional 7 kg of heroin, following the interrogation of Shivam Sodhi, who was arrested on May 21 with 5.5 kg of heroin, in Jalandhar in Jalandhar district.
Police on May 24 arrested two individuals, identified as Mohit and Malkiat Singh and seized 1.25 kg of heroin from their possession, at a naka (checkpoint) on Jattwali-Rana road, near Fazilka in Fazilka district. A case under Sections 21(c), 29, 61 and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Sadar Police Station, Fazilka, and further investigation is ongoing to trace the drug network.
Border Security Force (BSF) troops on May 24 recovered a packet of heroin weighing 567 grams, from near Mahawa village in Amritsar district.
The Amargarh police on May 23 arrested two persons, including a woman, identified as Manpreet Singh Laddi and Deepa Kaur for indulging in the illicit drug trade and committing thefts, and seized 6 grams of heroin and stolen goods from their possession, near Bagrian village in Malerkotla district.
On May 23, Punjab Police, on day 83 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, registered 118 first information reports (FIRs), arrested 161 drug smugglers and recovered 6.2 kg of heroin and INR 76270 drug money from their possession, across Punjab.
The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police on May 23 dismantled a Pakistan-backed smuggling network with the arrest of three individuals—identified as Rinku alias Gandhi, Vikramjeet Singh, and Lovepreet Singh—and seized 5.5 kg of heroin from their possession in Jalandhar district. Police stated that the accused were involved in cross-border drug trafficking using drones.
Ludhiana police on May 23 conducted early morning raids, arresting five smugglers, identified as Jatinder Kumar, Ajay alias Sunny, Deepak, Beet, and Mohammad Sabir, and seized 77 grams of heroin, 70 Alprazolam tablets, 450 Snospas tablets, and empty strips of Pregabalin and Brufen in Ludhiana district.
Amritsar rural police on May 22 busted a cross-border drug cartel, arresting three smugglers, identified as Daljit Singh alias Bhola, Pawanpreet Singh alias Monu, and Karanjit Singh alias Karan,and seizing 3 kg of heroin along with two 9mm Glock pistols near Mode village in Amritsar district.
On May 22, Punjab Police, on day 82 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, registered 79 First Information Reports (FIRs), arrested 101 drug smugglers and recovered 15.9 kg of heroin, 102 kg of poppy husk and INR 25.52 lakhs drug money from their possession, across Punjab.
Ferozepur Police on May 22 busted a drug smuggling module, and arrested three operatives, identified as Karan Kumar alias Ghanni, Rohit Bhatti, and Aakashdeep alias Aakash, and seized 12.07 kg of heroin and INR 25.12 lakhs in drug and hawala money, in Ferozepur in Ferozepur district. Preliminary investigations suggest cross-border links with Pakistan-based operatives using drones for narcotics delivery.
On May 21, Punjab Police, on day 81 of its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, registered 104 FIRs, arrested 150 drug smugglers and recovered 7.2 kg of heroin, 297 kg of poppy husk and INR 2.41 lakhs of drug money from their possession across Punjab.
The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police on May 21 busted a cross-border drug smuggling racket, arrested one smuggler identified as Shivam Sodhi, and seized 5 kg of heroin along with INR 22,000 in drug money from his possession in the Lamma Pind Chowk area of Jalandhar district.
