Jalandhar Rural Police on February 3 dismantled an interstate drug trafficking network operating between Bihar and Punjab, arresting four individuals identified as Pooja Kumari, Babita Devi, Arnav Kumar Jaiswal, and Mohit Dhanda and seizing 20.2 kg of ganja and 50 grams of heroin from their possession near Bidhipur railway gate in Jalandhar, Jalandhar district. The authorities uncovered the network's strategy of using railway routes and women carriers to evade detection. Further investigations are underway to trace the network’s linkages.
The Police on February 3 arrested three roadways employees, identified as Ajit Singh alias Raju, Deepak Sharma, and Keerat Singh and seized 55 grams of heroin, 20 small empty plastic packets, and a digital weighing scale from their possession in Jalandhar, Jalandhar district. Further investigations are underway to identify any larger network involved in drug trafficking.
Border Security Force (BSF) troops on February 1 arrested two unidentified drug smugglers and seized a packet of heroin weighing 550 grams, which had been dropped by a Pakistani drone, near Chanduwadala village in Gurdaspur district.

Police on January 28 arrested a peddler, identified as Gaurav Makkar alias Sunny and seized 14 grams of heroin and 20 pouches from his possession, from Kundanpuri area in Ludhiana in Ludhiana district.
Police on January 28, based on information from arrested drug peddler Gaurav Makkar alias Sunny, uncovered a 13-year-long drug smuggling racket run by Sonia alias Naachi and her two daughters, from Mohalla Peeru Banda area in Ludhiana in Ludhiana district in Punjab. Police arrested Sonia, and seized 4 grams of heroin and INR 2.9 lakh in alleged drug money from her possession.
The Ludhiana police on January 27 arrested a smuggler, identified as Raju Kalia, and seized 265 grams of heroin from his possession in Guru Har Rai Nagar, Ludhiana. Police revealed that Kalia, already facing three drug smuggling cases, resumed the illegal trade after being released on bail in October 2023.
The Border Security Force (BSF) troops on January 24 recovered one packet of heroin weighing 559 grams along with a drone from farming fields near Kakkar village in Ajnala in Amritsar district. The recovered drone was 01 DJI Air 3 S model.
Border Security Force (BSF) troops and the Special Task Force (STF) of Punjab Police on January 23 arrested an unidentified smuggler and seized 550 grams of heroin along with a phone from his possession near Balharwal village in Ajnala, Amritsar district.
Police on January 23 arrested a history sheeter facing over 14 First Information Reports (FIR), identified as Deepak Kumar Verma alias Deepu, along with his associate Rishab Sharma alias Rishu, and seized 15.20 grams of heroin, a .32 bore pistol with three live cartridges and three empty cartridges along with a car from their possession, in Sector 38/A in Chandigarh. The duo had fired at police personnel on January 23 while attempting to evade a check post. The police confirmed their involvement in drug trafficking across multiple states.
The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Chandigarh Police on January 22 arrested Gagan alias Gogi Gagandeep Singh (23) and Gagandeep (24), seizing 125.83 grams of heroin, 77.80 grams of charas, five knives, a dummy pistol, and a weighing scale from their possession in Chandigarh. The arrests followed the earlier detention of a woman smuggler, Aarti, who was caught with 30 grams of heroin on January 2. Gagandeep was identified as the main drug supplier.
Punjab Police, in a joint operation with the Health Department, conducted raids at several pharmaceutical outlets on January 22 and seized 28,491 intoxicating tablets and 1,448 capsules in Ferozepur district. At M/s Nitin Medical Store, 17,180 tablets and 260 capsules were seized, leading to the booking of Raman Kapoor and Kunal Kapoor. In a separate raid at M/s PK Medical Agency, 11,111 tablets and 1,188 capsules were seized, with owners Pawan Kumar and Raj Badwar booked. Additionally, 200 intoxicating tablets were seized from Aulakh Medical Store, and owners Angrej Singh and Rakesh Kumar were also booked.

The Chabal police on January 20 arrested two car-borne individuals, identified as Manjit Singh Meeta and Sajan, and seized four grams of heroin and drug money worth INR 1.02 lakh from their possession near Chabhal Kalan in Tarn Taran district.

Fazilka police on January 19 arrested Kewal Singh and seized 2.41 kg of heroin along with a Bajaj Platina bike from his possession near Nanak Nagri link road in Jalalabad, Fazilka district.
The Jalandhar Commissionerate police on January 19 arrested a member associated with the Gounder gang, identified as Harpreet Singh alias Peda, and seized 100 grams of heroin along with two pistols and magazines from his possession near Jamsher village in Jalandhar district. Singh, wanted in multiple criminal cases, attempted to escape during a weapons recovery operation by opening fire on police officers but was injured in retaliatory fire.
Police on January 18 arrested two individuals, identified as Navdeep Singh alias Joban and Jaskaran Singh alias Karan and seized two envelopes containing 500 grams of heroin (250 grams each), a 7.65 mm country-made pistol with five live cartridges, and a bike from their possession, at a checkpoint near Sultanpur Lodhi in Kapurthala district.
Police on January 18 recovered one packet of heroin weighing 558 grams from fields near Wan village in Tarn Taran district. The packet was dropped by a drone.
