The Border Security Force (BSF) troops on October 29 arrested three unidentified persons involved in drug smuggling, and seized 530 grams of heroin along with two smart phones, a motorcycle and Indian currency from their possession near Roranwala Khurd village in Amritsar district. The arrested individuals have been handed over to local police for further investigation into their links with a Pakistan-based narco-syndicate.
Wahabwala police on October 29 arrested an individual identified as Naveen Kumar and seized 34 kg of poppy husk from his possession in Wahabwala village, Abohar, in Fazilka district.
Police on October 28 arrested Lovepreet Singh, an associate of Turkey-based drug smuggler Navpreet Singh alias Nav Bhullar, and seized 6 kg of heroin along with a Hyundai Aura car from his possession near Umranangal Morh village in Amritsar district.

Police on October 26 arrested four individuals, identified as Gurbhej Singh, Lakhwinder Singh, Satinder Singh alias Kala, and Bharat alias Bhau, and seized 100 grams of heroin, 10 cartridges of 12 bore, and eight cartridges of 315 bore from their possession in Jalandhar district. The arrests are linked to cases of illegal arms possession, drug trafficking, and extortion, with authorities noting the group’s involvement in an active racket aimed at destabilizing law and order in the state. Gurbhej Singh is reportedly the chief of the Khalistani outfit Waris Punjab De (WPD) and serves as a personal gunman for jailed Khalistani preacher and MP Amritpal Singh.
The Counter Intelligence (CI) wing of the Punjab Police during an operation on October 26 arrested two associates of Turkey-based drug smuggler Navpreet Singh alias Nav Bhullar, identified as Navjot Singh and Lovepreet Kumar, and seized 105 kg of heroin, 31.93 kg of Caffeine Anhydrous, 17 kg of dextromethorphan (DMR), and six firearms, including five foreign-made pistols and one country-made pistol (desi katta) in Baba Bakala, Amritsar district. The operation was prompted by intelligence regarding Bhullar's Pakistan-backed smuggling racket, with drugs reportedly smuggled through the riverine belt along the Indo-Pak border. Further investigations are ongoing to trace the broader network involved in the cartel.

Punjab Police on October 24 arrested two unidentified individuals following an encounter in the Diamond Avenue area of Amritsar. Gunshots were exchanged during the encounter, injuring one of the accused. The police revealed that the arrests were linked to an inter-gang rivalry incident involving gunfire on October 18-19, during which two pistols, including a Glock 9mm and a .32 bore pistol with 13 rounds, were seized. Two additional suspects from the same gang are still being pursued.
The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, on October 23, busted an inter-state gang involved in opium smuggling by arresting Bablu and Akash Kumar and seizing 2 kg of opium from their possession near Bhagat Singh Colony in Jalandhar district.
Police on October 23 arrested former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Ferozepur (Rural), Satkar Kaur Gehri, and her nephew, Jaskeerat Singh, seizing 138 grams of heroin and INR 1.56 lakh in cash from their possession in Kharar, Sahibzada Ajit Singh (SAS) Nagar district.
The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Chandigarh Police on October 23 arrested a notorious drug peddler identified as Bala alias "drug queen," and seized 1.8 grams of heroin and INR 5 lakh in cash from him in Chandigarh. Bala, aged 62, has a lengthy criminal history spanning 32 years, involving 34 cases, with 17 convictions and 15 acquittals, including charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Amritsar City Police on October 23 arrested three drug peddlers, identified as Jagroop Singh, Jagjit Singh and Jashanpreet Singh and seized 2.15 kg of heroin from their possession in Chheharta Sahib in Amritsar district.
Ludhiana (Rural) Police on October 21 arrested a migrant labourer from Bihar, identified as Ram Parvesh Chaudhary, and seized 1 kg of marijuana (ganja) from his possession near Sarabha village in Ludhiana West, Ludhiana district.

Border Security Force (BSF) troops, in coordination with Punjab Police, on October 21 arrested an unidentified individual and seized 530 grams of heroin along with a broken mobile phone from his possession near Kaholi village in Ajnala, Amritsar district. The accused is currently in police custody, undergoing interrogation to determine any potential links with Pakistan-based narco-smugglers.
Police on October 20 arrested a man, identified as Rinku and seized 130 grams of heroin and INR 17,000 in drug money from his possession in Ludhiana district. Rinku, who has a prior criminal record, had recently been released on bail in a drug smuggling case and had resumed his illegal activities.
