The Ludhiana police on October 20 arrested a man identified as Navjot Singh alias Bablu and seized 220 grams of heroin from his possession, in Ludhiana in Ludhiana district. The police plan to seek his remand to further investigate the drug supply chain.
The Nakodar Sadar police arrested a drug peddler identified as Ismayal on October 19 and seized 110 intoxicating tablets from his possession in Nakodar Sadar, Jalandhar district.
Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) staff of Amritsar city police on October 19 arrested an individual identified as Akashdeep Singh alias Akash and seized 209 grams of heroin from his possession in Amritsar in Amristar district.
Pathankot Counter Intelligence and Gurdaspur Police, in a joint operation on October 18, arrested an unidentified drug smuggler linked to Pakistan-based operatives and seized 1.350 kg of heroin from his possession in Pathankot, Pathankot district.
The Border Security Force (BSF), in a joint operation with Punjab Police on October 17, arrested two unidentified narco-smugglers and recovered one packet of heroin, along with a smartphone and a motorcycle, from the Kassowal Bulge area adjacent to the Ravi River in Gurdaspur district, Punjab.
The Health Department on October 16 seized intoxicant drugs, including 4,400 capsules of pregabalin and 4,200 capsules of gabapentin, from a medical store in the Katra Sher Singh market in Amritsar district. The seized drugs are valued at INR 14.80 lakh.
Ludhiana police intercepted a drug-smuggling operation orchestrated by a woman from Odisha, identified as Phulsi Devi, who exploited a newly launched shipping company to transport concealed cannabis across Himachal Pradesh (HP), Haryana, and Punjab and seized 7.95 kilograms of cannabis from a parcel destined for Ludhiana in Ludhiana district. A case has been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against Phulsi, the owner of St Meirj Logistics, and her associate Raj Kumar. The operation came to light after the shipping company alerted police about Phulsi’s suspicious activities, linked to previous illegal drug shipments in Odisha.
Chandigarh Police on October 13 arrested a drug smuggler, identified as Deepak alias Deep and seized 44.73 grams of heroin from his possession, in Chandigarh.
Police on October 13 busted an illegal arms and drug trafficking operation, with the arrest of two notorious criminals, identified as Sagar Urdana alias Teji and Manpreet Singh alias Mani, and seized 100 grams of heroin along with three .32-bore pistols, two .30-bore pistols, and 26 live cartridges from their possession, near Kunde village in Ferozepur district.
Police on October 12 intercepted two suspicious vehicles and recovered 10.40 kg of heroin, INR 1,000 in cash, a car, and photocopies of an Aadhar card and voter ID belonging to a person identified as Sukhraj Singh, near Sukhewala village in Amritsar district. The accused, Sukhraj Singh, and his accomplice managed to flee, and efforts are underway to apprehend them.
The Border Security Force (BSF) on October 12 intercepted a Pakistani drone and recovered 498 grams of heroin and an empty pistol magazine near Raja Rai village in Ferozepur district. The recovered drone was a China made DJI Mavic 3 Classic model.

On October 11, the police booked an inmate named Danish, who returned to jail from the hospital, after recovering 10.30 grams of ganja and 9.30 grams of drug powder from his possession in Chandigarh.
Police on October 11 arrested two drug peddlers, identified as Guni Ram and Rohit Kumar, and seized 3,500 intoxicant tablets from their possession, in Mohkampura in Amritsar district.
Police on October 11 arrested three individuals, identified as Sujal Smile, Chanchal alias Tooti, and Mithu alias Ghora, and seized 45 grams of heroin from their possession near Baba Ishar Singh School in Amritsar district.
Shimlapuri police on October 10 arrested one individual, identified as Manveer Singh alias Mana, and seized 17 grams of heroin from his possession, from near Dana Mandi in Ludhiana in Ludhiana district.
Amritsar city police on October 10 busted a cross-border smuggling racket with the arrest of three individuals, identified as jail warden Gurmej Singh, Akashdeep Singh alias Akash, and his brother Satwinderpal Singh alias Satti, and seized 4.5 kg of heroin and INR 4.32 lakh in drug money from their possession in Chheharta, Amritsar district. The accused were reportedly using drones to smuggle drugs from Pakistan.
The Border Security Force (BSF) on October 10 recovered six plastic bottles filled with heroin, weighing 13.160 kg from fields near Kalash village in Tarn Taran district.
The Amritsar police Commissionerate on October 9 arrested six members of an inter-state organised crime syndicate identified as Gurjashan Singh alias Chinni, Paras Singh alias Raja, Akashbir Singh alias Yaddi, Manpreet Singh alias Manu, Akashdeep Singh and Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha, and seized three pistols of .32 bore calibre, one double barrel gun of .12 bore and 15 live cartridges from their possession, in Amritsar in Amritsar district. The arrests were made to prevent an imminent gang war with a rival gang led by Amarbir Singh alias Gopi Mahal Gang. The police are currently conducting further investigations.
Police on October 9 arrested three drug traffickers, identified as Gurpreet Singh and Harpreet Singh alias Happy and Jota Singh, and seized 5 kg of heroin along with INR 3.95 lakh drug money, car and a motorcycle from their possession, in Ajnala in Amritsar district. The accused were linked to Pakistan-based smugglers and used drones to transport narcotics. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered, and investigations are ongoing to trace their accomplices.
Police on October 8 arrested two individuals, identified as Sahil Kumar and Abhinav alias Abhi, and seized 190 grams of heroin from their possession, near LIG flats in Ludhiana in Ludhiana district.

The Khanna City-2 police on October 7 arrested two unidentified persons and seized 620 kg of poppy husk along with INR 20,000 drug money, four mobile phones and a truck from their possession, at a naka (checkpoint) near Khanna in Ludhiana district.
Police, on October 6, arrested two drug peddlers, identified as Arshdeep Singh alias Bhola and Sahib Singh, and seized 110 grams of heroin and INR 9.16 lakh drug money, along with a scooter from their possession, in Amritsar in Amritsar district.
