During the Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on January 8, the police arrested 16 individuals and seized 1.1kg of opium, 1,450 habit-forming tablets, 1.5 kg of cannabis, 10 g of heroin, 30 g of intoxicants, 120 bottles of liquor, two motorcycles and INR 1.25 lakh in drug money in Patiala district of Punjab.
The Border Security Force (BSF) on January 6 recovered three packages suspected to be containing 3.210 kg of heroin wrapped with adhesive tape and one Android mobile phone from a farming field, near Daoke village in Amritsar II tehsil in Amritsar district.
Punjab Police on January 4 busted a cross-border drug module being operated from Pakistan, by arresting a drug peddler identified as Simranjit Singh alias Simar Maan, and seized 2 kg of ICE (methamphetamine), a .30-bore China-made pistol and five bullets from his possession, in Chheharta area in Amritsar district. The suspect was in contact with Pakistan-based smugglers who allegedly supplied drugs and weapons using drones.
Police on January 4 arrested four drug smugglers identified as Gurpreet Singh, Harmohan Singh, Jagjeet Singh and Jarnail Singh, and seized 63 kg of opium from their possession, at a special check post near Goraya in Jalandhar district. One of the accused, Jagjit, was convicted for 10 years in a poppy husk smuggling case and was out on parole
Police on January 4 arrested an individual identified as Gourav, and seized 20 grams of ICE (methamphetamine) from his possession, near Jharamari Barrier in Derabassi in Sahibzada Ajit Singh (SAS) Nagar district.
A team of Range Anti-Narcotics-cum-Special Operation Cell on January 4 arrested an individual identified as Jatinder Singh and seized 50 grams of heroin from his possession at Phase-7 in in Sahibzada Ajit Singh (SAS) Nagar district.
The Border Security Force (BSF) troops on January 3 recovered a packet containing around 530 grams of heroin, wrapped in yellow adhesive tape, on the outskirts of Naushera Dhalla village in Tarn Taran district.
The Shahkot police on January 3 arrested a drug peddler identified as Harpreet Singh alias Happy and seized 305 intoxicant tablets from his possession, in Baupur village in Jalandhar district.
Punjab Police on January 1 busted an inter-state drug smuggling racket by arresting two individuals, identified as Pishora Singh and Arjodh Singh alias Jodha along with 10 kg of opium and a car (PB04 V 1299) from Maqboolpura area of Amritsar district.

Khanna Police on December 31 arrested three individuals identified as Abhishek Shahi, Akashdeep Singh and Sagar Thakur, and seized 260 grams of heroin from their possession, at a post check post near PUNSUP godown in Doraha in Ludhiana district.
Punjab Police on December 31 busted a cross-border drug and arms smuggling racket being operated by a United States (US)-based smuggler, Manpreet alias Mannu Mahawa, with the arrest of its two key operatives identified as Sandeep Singh alias Laddi and Roshan and seized 19 kg of heroin, INR 23 lakh in drug money, seven pistols (including one 9mm Glock, three .30 bore pistols, and three .32 bore pistols), along with Pakistan-stamped ammunition, a currency counting machine, drone equipment (including a remote controller and spare fans), and a Hyundai Verna car (PB06BB4064) from their possession in Amritsar district. The arrested individuals were smuggling heroin from Pakistan and distributing it across the state. Further investigations are underway to trace financial links and freeze assets.
The Border Security Force (BSF) troops, in a joint operation with Punjab Police, on December 30 recovered 523 grams of heroin and a drone on the outskirts of Mari Kamboke village in Tarn Taran district. The drone was identified as a made-in-China Quadcopter, Model-DJI Mavic 3 Classic.
Police on December 29 arrested a truck driver identified as Budh Raj and seized 204 kg of poppy husk from his possession, near Chak Kala Singh Wala village in Sri Muktsar Sahib district. The Police intercepted his truck on December 28, where 12 bags of poppy husk were discovered in the truck.
On December 28, a consignment comprising 2,503 plastic crates of apples from Afghanistan, concealing 33.92 kg of heroin-soaked paper sheets, was seized at the Integrated Check Post in Attari, Amritsar district. The operation was prompted by intelligence inputs from the Crime Branch of Delhi Police and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). The seizure was made under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985, highlighting efforts to curb drug trafficking through unconventional means.
Police on December 28 arrested a woman, identified as Renu Kaur and seized 8,000 intoxicating tablets from her possession, at Gumjal barrier on the Abohar-Sriganganagar highway, near Gumjal in Fazilka district.

Abohar City Police on December 28 arrested four persons identified as Manpreet Singh, Ravi Kumar, Sunil Kumar and Anil Kumar, while they were consuming ‘chitta’ (heroin), in Abohar in Fazilka district.
Police on December 28 arrested a woman identified as Kulwant Kaur and seized 4 kg of heroin from her possession in Maajimian village in Amritsar district. Her accomplice, Sucha Singh, managed to escape, prompting ongoing police raids for his arrest. The seizure and arrests were made during a police patrolling operation, and investigations are underway to determine the source and network involved in the narcotics racket.
