An on-stage disruption briefly shocked audiences at Diljit Dosanjh's concert in San Francisco on Friday after a pro-Khalistan demonstrator jumped onto the stage holding a flag. The incident caused panic for a short while before venue security and local police intervened, tackled the individual and took him into custody.
Diljit continued his performance during the incident and resumed his dance after the person was arrested. He kept the focus on entertainment and diaspora unity throughout his performance.
The incident took place during Diljit's live performance in San Francisco last night. According to the input, the demonstrator ran onto the stage mid-show, leading to a security breach.
The disruption came amid recent online threats and interruptions linked to hardline factions, including Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), over Diljit's appearances in mainstream Indian media. The singer has reiterated his position on live events, saying that anyone who tries to harass his fans or disrupt the concert will be removed by local authorities.
Tour concludes in San Francisco
The incident came as Diljit Dosanjh's North American Aura World Tour 2026 drew to a close. The stadium and arena tour concluded with shows held on June 20 and 21, 2026, at the Chase Centre in San Francisco.
Recently, the Los Angeles City Council honoured Diljit Dosanjh by declaring January 6, 2027, as Diljit Dosanjh Day. The resolution recognised his role in taking Punjabi music to audiences across the world and promoting South Asian culture in mainstream American entertainment.
Diljit is also awaiting the release of his period drama, Panjab 95. The film is directed by Honey Trehan and produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies, and is based on slain human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.
