Caller threatens to blow up Durgiana Temple, says mgmt

Ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, the Durgiana Temple administration has received a telephone call from a person threatening to blow up the Durgiana Temple.

Somdev Sharma, karya parmukh, Gram Chalo Abhiyan, Durgiana Temple said on Thursday morning a person called on the landline of Durgiana Temple identifying himself as Harneet and threatened to blow up the temple. 

Earlier, designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun of Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) had released a video warning the Durgiana Temple authorities to close the temple and hand over the keys to the Golden Temple authorities. 

Amritsar police commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said police have beefed up security in the city and raids were being conducted at suspicious places. 

Meanwhile, BSF on Thursday recovered around 500 gram of heroin near Thatharke village in Gurdaspur.
