Two unidentified men on an autorickshaw hurled an explosive at a house in Chandigarh's upscale sector 10 on Wednesday evening. The UT administration has since deployed large contingents of police across the city and sealed off all its entry and exit points.
No one was injured in the low-intensity explosion and only windows and flowerpots in the garden of the bungalow were damaged, police said.
An NIA team went to the spot and began a parallel investigation, sources said.
Police suspect the target was the previous occupant of the house, Jaskirat Singh, a retired SP of Punjab Police. Police suspect the hand of Harwinder Singh Sandhu, alias Rinda, a Pak-based designated Khalistan terrorist.
