Secret agencies in undercover operation have busted a terror module in Mohali with the arrest of one suspect on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. The sources in the secret agencies said that that during the operation teams recovered one AK-47, one sniper rifle, hand grenades, two pistols and few lakhs of fake currency from the possession of the accused.
Sources said that the secret agencies said to be National Investigating Agency (NIA) and Organised Crime Control Unit (OCCU) of Punjab police in joint operation raided the hideout in a flat in block B of The Eminence housing society in Singhpura in Zirakpur Mohali. The operation lasted for around 2 hours starting from 12:30 am to 2:30 am, said the sources.
The accused who has been arrested is identified as Surinder Singh alias Sikender residing in this flat along with his wife and two children said sources. The sources also said that the accused is a suspect of being a part of the terror module in Punjab state. NIA and OCCU also believe that the accused might be involved in the target killings recent attacks on RSS leaders in Punjab.
